Trying to use smoothies to be healthier? I'd like to help.

Hi, I'm Shaun. Welcome to the Smoothie Habit blog, where I try to help you with the hard part of using smoothies to be healthy: sticking with them long enough for them to actually matter.

Wait a second…is this just another smoothie site?
Nope :) The world of smoothies is way too big to recreate here. I don't have time to post hundreds of recipes or review every blender, and I bet you don't have time for all of that either. Besides, lots of other sites already do a pretty good job of that.
I am laser focused on one thing: helping you create a healthy smoothie habit that lasts. Everything I share - every post, every recipe, every tip - is here to help you get from where you are now to the point where your healthy smoothies are a non-negotiable for you. Something you crave and that is easier for you to do than it is to skip.  

Staying consistent with any healthy change - even one as easy as smoothies - can be really, really hard. Motivation ebbs and flows. Life throws out new challenges all the time. The pull of your old routines is real and powerful. It's no wonder so many people struggle and fail. 

It's hard, but it's not impossible. Making a habit of your healthy smoothies is the best way I know to stick with them long term. Habit is your brain's own tool for doing things consistently, and starting habits is a skill - something you can learn how to do. 

OK, but how do I know whether this site is for me or not? 
Great question. Smoothie Habit is definitely not for everyone and may well not be for you. You'll get the most out of it if you: 
  • Want to use smoothies to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables than you do now
  • Are a parent trying to get your kids to eat more fruits and veggies
  • Are considering buying a fancy blender like a Vitamix, but are worried you won't use it enough to justify the cost (That was us back in summer 2015! See our story here.)
  • Already own a fancy blender, but don't use it as much as you swore you would when you bought it
  • Already make smoothies, but find they take more time and effort than you thought they would. See my favorite time-saving idea in this article One Smoothie Time Saver to Rule Them All.
